Please join us for wonderful promotions, demonstrations, sales and gatherings.

Entire Month of October

Thistle is proud to have participated in decorating the Prevost House on 1100 Milford-Frenchtown Road, as part of the successful Designer Showhouse series presented by the Alexandria Township Historical Society. Thistle was commissioned to decorate the Harvest room, Guest Besroom and Stairway.

The Harvest room was the main room of the original house before all the later
additions. The fireplace/hearth was the center of the house used for cooking & heating of the home. The Harvest room was created to pay tribute to this evolving home and to compliment the architectural details. The Harvest Room is a collection of period pieces, vintage items and new reproductions. While this room is not intended to be a period room it is designed to reflect a lifestyle comfortable with today’s living.

The Guest bedroom is part of the original house and was most likely the home owner's bedroom. Later it became a child’s room as the additions to the house were made. We chose to create a guest room, perhaps used as B & B accommodations for visitor’s to Frenchtown. The room showcases the owners collection of quilts, folk art, painted furniture and vintage pieces. We used our mix of old and revamped pieces to give the feeling of warmth that would make any guest feel welcome.

See our photos of the rooms we decorated below.

"...so much emotion in her music..." Ralph Novak, Senior Editor, PEOPLE Magazine

"painting is just another way of keeping a diary." pablo picasso

So it is with Kerri Sherwood, whose diary, however, is in her music--full of passion and emotion. Kerri's music, which has been said by a fan to "arouse, stir and urge" is the thread that has run through her life. Throughout her study of composition, her work as a conductor and performer, and her insight as a teacher, music has been the common denominator. The spectrum of moods in her work communicates her belief that every moment in life counts...this is the music of real life. Her music is melodic, fresh, evocative. It allows the listener to reflect, be introspective-to rediscover romance, the heart, the home. Radio calls it honest, relate-able, heartfelt.
